China offers humanitarian aid to Myanmar to help displaced in Rakhine
The Chinese embassy to Myanmar on Thursday offered humanitarian aid to the Myanmar Red Cross Society in Yangon to help the displaced people in Rakhine State.
"China and Myanmar are close and good neighbors. When the neighbor meets with difficulties, China always gives a helping hand immediately," Chinese Ambassador Hong Liang said at the donation ceremony.
The Chinese government supports the Myanmar government's efforts to promote stability in Rakhine State, as stability in Rakhine is important to Myanmar and the region at large, the ambassador said.
He hoped that under the leadership of the Myanmar government and with the support from all walks of life in the country and good neighbors, the displaced people will live a good life soon.
U Khin Maung Hla, secretary general of the Myanmar Red Cross Society, expressed his thanks to the Chinese government and said they will make full use of the assistance to help the displaced people.
