President Xi's commitment: to make China's COVID-19 vaccines a global public good

More than 110 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported worldwide, and the death toll is above 2.45 million as of February 19, 2021. Chinese President Xi Jinping delivers a speech at the opening video conference of the 73rd World Health Assembly on the evening of May 18, 2020, announcing that COVID-19 vaccine development and deployment in China, when available, will be made a global public good. This will be China’s contribution to ensuring vaccine accessibility and affordability in developing countries.
