HARBIN, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- A sculpture was unveiled Tuesday in Harbin, capital of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, to mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Norway.

The sculpture, crafted by the Norwegian sculptor Arne Maeland, measures 0.5 meters in length, 1 meter in width, and 2 meters in height. The sculpture is on display at a sculpture park in Harbin's Hulan District.

According to Signe Brudeset, the Norwegian Ambassador to China, cultural exchange is an important part of the bilateral relationship between Norway and China. It helps build bridges and increase understanding between the two peoples.

The ambassador said a series of economic and cultural exchange activities will take place this year to mark the anniversary.
