BEIJING, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- President of Xinhua News Agency Fu Hua met with Bienvenu-Marie Bakumanya, director general of the news agency of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) here on Monday.
Fu said that the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) held in Beijing was a complete success, and the overall characterization of China-Africa relations has been elevated to an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era.
Noting that Xinhua attaches great importance to reporting on the DRC and Africa, Fu said Xinhua is willing to work with African media organizations to tell the world compelling stories of China-Africa modernization, help build an international discourse system of the Global South, and contribute to the in-depth development of China-Africa solidarity and cooperation.
Bakumanya said that news media cooperation plays an important role in the Africa-China cooperation, and that he expects the two news agencies to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in areas such as technology and personnel training and work together to promote mutual understanding between the African and Chinese peoples.
