Development Zones Are of Great Promise

Established on December 6, 1984 upon the approval of the State Council, the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (abbreviated as TEDA and transliterated as Taida) is one of China's earliest national-level development zones.

Three decades later, TEDA now comprises of 10 sub-zones and has grown into the country's best national-level development zone in terms of comprehensive investment environment with the biggest economic aggregate and highest degree of integration with the world.

A Gateway to the Bohai Bay

Located at the intersection of the Circum-Bohai Economic Belt and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei megalopolis, TEDA is the gateway to the Bohai Bay, a key player of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei industrial axis, and a core zone and mark zone of Tianjin Binhai New Area.

A Hinterland Market of North China

It is seamlessly connected with the vast hinterland market of North China, Northeast China and Northwest China and sees Japan and South Korea across the sea, facing Northeast Asia and the burgeoning Asia-Pacific economic circle and serving as a showcase and corridor of China's opening-up.

Remarkable Strategies

It has remarkable advantages in national strategies such as the Belt and Road Initiative, the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region, the construction of pilot free trade zone, the construction of national-level demonstration zone for indigenous innovation, and the development and opening-up of Binhai New Area.

International cooperation

TEDA has become an international community and a window of China to the external world. At present, about 5,000 foreigners from more than 80 countries and regions such Korea, Japan, USA, Canada, Sinapore, Malaysia, Australia and UK live in TEDA. With integration of different languages and living habits, TEDA has formed a unique environment of diversified culture.

TEDA has established good cooperation relationship with the New York State Small Business Development Center and Auckland County in USA.

TEDA  has project cooperation with Japan, USA, Sweden and other countries in the field of low carbon and environmental protection such as clean technology and green energy to explore the new mode of sustainable development of low-carbon city.
