Kazakhstan's Shymkent delegation impressed by Xi'an's development
As the first international friendly city delegation to visit Xi'an after the China-Central Asia Summit, the delegation of Shymkent, Kazakhstan, came to Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, for a visit on July 5.
During the four-day exchange visit, the delegation is set to learn about Xi'an's experience in innovation and green development and gain a deeper understanding of Xi'an's latest achievements in its integration into the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as explore how Xi'an and Shymkent can complement each other's strengths.

On July 5, the delegation visited the Xi'an Economic and Technological Development Zone, where they learned about the development history of the zone through promotional videos and conducted detailed inspections of the current situation and achievements of industrial development in the zone.
The delegation praised Xi'an's historic preservation, urban renewal, and transportation planning achievements. They hoped for more extensive exchanges and cooperation in sustainable urban development and smart city construction.
In the Xi'an Guanzhong Comprehensive Bonded Zone, the delegation visited Lonteng Semiconductor Co, a high-tech enterprise dedicated to the research, production, sales, and services of new power semiconductor devices. The delegation also had in-depth discussions on cross-border e-commerce service systems.
On the day, the Xi'an Sub-council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade signed a memorandum of understanding with the Shymkent Public Enterprise Association, and the Xi'an Economic and Technological Development Zone inked a memorandum of understanding with SPK Shymkent Corporation.
In addition, the delegation enjoyed the "Chang'an Impression-Tang Dynasty Welcoming Ceremony" at the Xi'an City Wall. Delegation members recorded this cultural ceremony, experiencing a banquet where they traveled through time and space and returned to the prosperous Tang Dynasty (618-907).
