Haikou National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone
Haikou National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, established in 1991, is the only national hi-tech industrial development zone in Hainan Province. It focuses on the development of hi-tech industries such as medicine and medical equipment, hi-end low-carbon manufacturing, intelligent sensors and information technology. It is the main area for hi-tech industries development in Hainan Province.
The hi-tech zone is composed of five professional sub-parks: Mei'an Ecological Science and Technology New Park, the main area of Haikou National Hi-tech Zone, focuses on creating an ecological science and technology park that integrates industrial development, technological innovation, commerce and logistics, and other functions, dedicating to build up hi-tech industrial clusters led by sensors and information technology, new energy and new materials. The Medicine Valley Industrial Park, the core area of the "Haikou Medicine Valley" and a hi-tech industry incubator, a headquarters economic agglomeration area of pharmaceutical agglomeration industrial park, focuses on developing production and R&D enterprises. Shiziling Industrial Park, focuses on developing new energy, new materials, functional food, energy conservation and environmental protection, and health industries. Yunlong Industrial Park, focuses on developing industries such as advanced equipment, tourism crafts, and leisure and sporting goods manufacturing. Haima Industrial Park, a supporting park for modern service industry and a professional park for Haima Automobile, focuses on developing auto parts manufacturing and modern service industries.
At current stage, the hi-tech park is constructing two platforms: a hi-tech production center, and a modern service industry platform centered on the Internet and the headquarters economy. The two platforms focus on medical and medical devices, low-carbon manufacturing, and information technology, and develop healthy economy, information economy, and green economy, striving to build up a hi-tech industrial demonstration area in Hainan Free Trade Port.
