"China: An Opportunity, Chongqing Brands" Peru promotion event launched
On November 5, local time in Peru, the "China: An Opportunity, Chongqing Brands" Global Promotion attracted an unexpected crowd of over 200 attendees at Centro de la Amistad Peruano China in Lima.
The event garnered extensive media attention, with representatives from prominent Peruvian outlets such as the Republic of Peru Newspaper, RPP Radio, RPP TV, and Peru National Television. RPP TV provided live coverage, reaching a wide audience with in-depth reporting.

Organized by the Western China International Communication Organization (WCICO), under the guidance of the Chongqing Municipal Government Information Office and support from the Centro de la Amistad Peruano China and others, the event highlighted Chongqing's industry, culture, and economic strengths, marking a significant step in establishing its brand in Latin American markets.
Among the notable guests, renowned Peruvian Sinologist Joseph Cruz Soriano (Gao Wangmin) opened the event with a greeting in the Chongqing dialect, eliciting a lively response from the audience. "Chongqing is renowned for its hospitality and friendliness, making it not only a popular tourist destination but also an ideal place for building business relationships and lasting friendships," Gao said.

Guan Hong, Executive Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, stated that the "China: An Opportunity, Chongqing Brands" Global Promotion series aims to showcase Chongqing's urban appeal, cultural richness, and industrial opportunities to the world, facilitating connections between Chongqing's industries, enterprises, products, and brands with the Latin American market.
Guan also expressed the hope that more Latin American businesses, products, and brands would come to Chongqing, exploring new opportunities for bilateral trade and investment cooperation.

Erik Mitsuo, General Manager of Inchcape Peru and Changan Automobile Peru, highlighted Changan's success as a key case study during the promotion event, showcasing the growth potential for Chongqing companies in the Peruvian market.
Changan's sales in Peru have continued to rise, reaching 6,153 units from January to September 2024, securing the top spot among Chinese brands and ranking fourth overall in Peru's automotive market, he noted.

Liu Qingqing, Director of the Publicity Department of Dazu District, Chongqing, provided Peruvian guests with a detailed introduction to the cultural value and historical significance of Dazu Rock Carvings.

The event also featured a photo exhibition vividly showcasing Chongqing's scenic landscapes and urban energy, drawing guests to admire the city's unique natural beauty and cultural appeal. Additionally, attendees sampled local specialties like Chongqing noodles, offering them a taste of the city's culinary culture.
