The Belt and Road Portal (BRP), China's official website for the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), on Friday launched its new Spanish-language version during a conference held in Peru's Lima featuring cooperation between China and Peru under the BRI framework.

The renewed Spanish version of the portal integrates significant advancements in content aggregation, information retrieval, and service integration, featuring sections for news, projects, data, specials, and services, as well as a unique section for featured reports.

The portal aims to deliver more precise information and has enhanced its functionality and service capabilities, making it easier for Spanish-speaking users worldwide to access the latest developments and opportunities within the BRI.

Showcasing the achievements in the Belt and Road cooperation from multiple perspectives, the Spanish-language version of BRP has to date published nearly 10,000 articles and presented original video reports featuring interviews with ambassadors of Belt and Road partner countries to China, as well as extensive multimedia projects such as the "Latino Panda in China" special column.

This year marks the tenth anniversary since the initiative of building a China-Latin America community with a shared future was put forward for the first time. So far, 22 Latin American and Caribbean countries have signed Belt and Road cooperation documents with China, reflecting continuous and enhanced communication and cooperation between the two sides in multiple fields.

A representative from the BRP noted that as the Belt and Road cooperation between China and Latin America continues to deepen, the portal will keep paying close attentions to the latest developments and successes in practical cooperation, contributing to the building of a community with a shared future between China and Latin America.

With six language versions in Chinese, English, Russian, French, Spanish and Arabic, the BRP now covers 221 countries and regions around the world.

Supervised by the office of the Leading Group for Promoting the Belt and Road Initiative, the BRP is jointly guided by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and Xinhua News Agency, and is co-hosted by the Xinhua-affiliated China Economic Information Service and the State Information Center affiliated to the NDRC.
