Hainan Airlines expects more passengers and flights for upcoming summer

Hainan Airlines, one of China's major air carriers, announced recently that it expects to operate 864 flights per day in July and August, including 816 domestic flights and 48 international flights, marking 10.6-percent year-on-year growth.

According to the announcement, Hainan Airlines anticipates more than 8 million domestic passengers and over 500,000 international passengers this summer, representing 5-percent and 50-percent year-on-year growth, respectively.

During the two-month period, the airline plans to operate more than 500 domestic routes covering over 80 cities, with 20 new routes focused on the popular tourist destinations. Additionally, about 50 international and regional routes involving approximately 30 countries and regions will be operated.

According to the company, it will resume or open three air routes linking Shanghai and Brussels, Beijing and Phuket, and Beijing and Prague in the near term. (Edited by Wu Rui, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
