Relying on the Piraeus Port Project, COSCO SHIPPING took the lead in organizing the translation and publication of the Greek literary masterpiece Ένα παιδί μετράει τ' άστρα (Child Counting the Stars) into Chinese. By practicing corporate social responsibilities and with the book as a medium, the Group has facilitated cultural and people-to-people exchanges between China and Greece - two ancient civilizations - and strengthened the people-to-people bond under the BRI.

The launch and first-batch donation ceremony of the Chinese version of "Child Counting the Stars" took place on June 23, 2021. Through the COSCO SHIPPING Charity Foundation, the Group donated 2,000 copies of the book to charity organizations, government agencies, educational institutions, and poverty-stricken areas in China and Greece. The significant contribution has not only expanded the book's social influence but also deepened cultural exchanges between the two countries.

"Child Counting the Stars" written by the renowned Greek writer Menelaos Lountemis (Mενέλαος Λουντέμης), was one of the best-selling novels in Greece from the 1950s to the 1970s. Through meticulous and engaging storytelling, the author vividly portrays the protagonist's relentless pursuit of truth amid the turbulence of the world. This novel captures the essence of the Greek people's unwavering spirit in their quest for truth and their determination to uphold their original aspirations even in adversity.
