Chinese, Djiboutian FMs exchange congratulations on 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties
BEIJING, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Monday exchanged congratulations with Djiboutian Foreign Minister Mahmoud Ali Youssouf on the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 45 years ago, relations between China and Djibouti have developed rapidly and steadily, their strategic mutual trust has continuously deepened, and practical cooperation has yielded fruitful results, said Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
China and Djibouti have become good friends that trust each other politically and good partners for win-win economic cooperation, Wang said.
The Chinese foreign minister said he would like to make joint efforts with Youssouf, under the guidance of the important consensus reached between the two heads of state, to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries and push the China-Djiboutistrategic partnership to achieve new outcomes.
Youssouf said since establishing diplomatic ties 45 years ago, Djibouti-China relations have always been unbreakable.
Especially since the establishment of a strategic partnership between the two countries, the two sides have achieved remarkable results in cooperation in such fields as economy, trade, and infrastructure construction, demonstrating the vitality of bilateral relations, he said.
Djibouti stands ready to work with China to push forward the mutually beneficial cooperation and strategic relations between the two countries under the guidance of the consensus reached by the two heads of state, Youssouf added.
