Guizhou offers its 5G network construction timeline
On August 8, the reporter learned from the Guizhou Communications Administration that, in order to promote the planning and construction of the 5G mobile communication network in Guizhou Province and accelerate its commercialization, the Administration is taking positive measures to advance the construction of 5G mobile communication network, and plans to implement 5G commercial trials in 2019; in 2020, the 5G mobile network to be built will cover the major urban areas of each city (prefecture) across the province and commercialized on a large scale; and in 2022, 5G will be commercialized across the board.
It is understood that on July 15 this year, the General Office of the Guizhou Provincial People's Government issued the Implementation Plan for the Construction of 5G Mobile Communication Network in Guizhou Province, clarifying the overall requirements and objectives of the 5G mobile communication network construction, so as to provide a solid ground for facilitating the planning, construction, application and development of the 5G mobile network in Guizhou Province.
After the issuance of the Plan, the Guizhou Communications Administration immediately established a relevant working mechanism and set up a special group for the planning of the 5G mobile communication network, which actively cooperates with the competent departments of various industries to implement the work and fuel the construction of the 5G mobile communication network.
Five priorities for the construction and development of the 5G mobile network
I. Resources are shared to facilitate and benefit the people. Public areas of government agencies, public institutions, state-owned enterprises, schools, hospitals, tourist attractions, venues and others at all levels should be open to telecom operators, radio and television network companies, and China Tower, including municipal street lights, public security monitoring poles, traffic signal poles, power poles and other pole and tower resources; urban roads, green belts, park squares, bus stations, scenic areas and other public areas; highways, railways, bridges, airports and other transportation infrastructure, reserving space for the construction of 5G base stations and communication infrastructure and providing convenience for construction.
II. Specifications are synchronized for technological innovation. It is a need to realize "synchronous planning, synchronous design, synchronous construction, and simultaneous acceptance" for buildings and communication infrastructure, and incorporate communication infrastructure planning and design into the mandatory standards of relevant engineering and construction industries, so that ordinary infrastructure is empowered with multiple functions integrated into one in an innovative and technological fashion so as to enhance people's satisfaction.
III. Planning and construction are made in a unified and coordinated manner. The construction of communication infrastructure such as base stations, towers, radios and televisions, and computer rooms should be integrated into the overall planning of urban master plan. For underground lines, municipal roads, rail transit, transportation hubs, scenic spots, and large venues, as well as other municipal facilities such as parks, street lamps, and monitoring systems, it is a need to reserve space for the construction of base stations, towers, and computer rooms. At the same time, it is necessary to make overall consideration of the needs for the power, transmission cables and the construction of related supporting facilities required for base stations. The needs in the late stage should be taken into account in the early stage of construction, which can not only speed up the construction but also achieve a neat and uniform appearance of the facilities.
IV. Streamline the process and beautify the city. To further quicken the approval of relevant construction organizations and the handling of warrants, relevant organizations will simplify the declaration and approval processes and procedures for mobile communication infrastructure such as communication base stations, and increase support for the land use of 5G base station sites, so as to carry out the construction in strict accordance with the requirements of urban cityscape, landscape beautification and environmental protection under the premise of avoiding the damage to the city's public facilities.
V. Work together for 5G across the times. It will be the first to set up 5G base stations in airports, railway stations, passenger stations, large residential communities, large commercial districts, as well as crowded areas and key traffic trunks such as Big Data Expo Avenue and Renmin Avenue, carry out 5G applications and innovation and improve the scale of 5G deployment and commercial level around HD media, smart medical care, smart education, and autonomous driving, intelligent manufacturing, smart municipal services, smart tourism, smart broadcasting and other fields, and allow users to enjoy the convenience brought by 5G in public places, comprehensively improving the people's life happiness.
