Virtual expo held to promote agro-products from CEECs
Nearly 100 enterprises from Central and Eastern European countries (CEECs) took part in a virtual expo on Thursday, setting up online booths to promote premium agro-products.
Co-hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the expo was held in the city of Weifang, in east China's Shandong Province, one of China's main agricultural provinces.
The event received more than 6.5 million online visitors, with diplomats from over 10 CEECs in China participating in livestreamed promotional activities.
Online and offline exhibitions, livestreamed promotions, seminars and other activities were held during the expo, which introduced high-quality agro-products from CEECs to China and further tapped the potential of agricultural cooperation between the two sides.
Zhang Taolin, vice-minister of agriculture and rural affairs, said China and CEECs are highly complementary in agriculture and have a sound foundation for cooperation.
The trade volume of agro-products between China and CEECs reached 730 million U.S. dollars in the first half of 2020, up 8.2 percent year on year, Zhang added.
