Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg has said that relations between Luxembourg and China have yielded fruitful results in the past and have broad prospects for the future, according to a press statement released on Sunday by the Chinese embassy in Luxembourg.

Grand Duke Henri accepted a letter of credence on Friday from Yang Xiaorong, China's new ambassador to Luxembourg.

The statement quoted Grand Duke as saying that Luxembourg cherishes its friendly relations with China and bilateral cooperation has achieved results in such areas as finance and logistics, which have benefited people of the two countries. The Luxembourg-China ties will progress to higher levels with joint efforts of both countries, he said.

Ambassador Yang said that in recent years, China and Luxembourg have continued to deepen their cooperation in different areas, and established a model for partnership between countries of different sizes, populations, social systems and at different stages of development.

In the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, she said both countries have helped each other and overcome difficulties together. China stands ready to work with Luxembourg to promote further development in various areas, she said in the statement.
