Chinese technology company Vivo has agreed a deal to become the official smartphone provider for the UEFA Euro 2020 and 2024 tournaments, European football's governing body revealed on Tuesday.

The announcement means China now provides three of UEFA's ten top-tier sponsors of Euro 2020, with payment services provider Alipay and electronics firm Hisense already having signed up. The value of Vivo's deal was not disclosed.

Originally due to be held this summer, Euro 2020 was postponed by one year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The rescheduled tournament is due to be staged next summer in 12 cities across Europe, with the semifinals and final to be played in London.
