NW. China's Qinghai sees rising foreign trade in September

Foreign trade in northwest China's Qinghai Province surged two percent year on year to 400 million yuan in September of the year, according to the local customs, reported Qinghai Daily Thursday.

Thanks to the relevant policies issued by local authorities to stabilize foreign trade and foreign investment, as well as the improvement of the regional economic development, Qinghai saw it's foreign trade grow for the first time since the year begins.

In the first three quarters of the year, Qinghai posted a total of 1.57 billion yuan in import and export volume, fell by 46.3 percent year on year. The decline was 7.4 percentage points narrower than in the previous eight months, said the local customs.

During the same period, Qinghai's imports amounted to 770 million yuan, while exports stood at 800 million yuan.

Kazakhstan was the largest trading partner of Qinghai, with the import value from Kazakhstan reaching 180 million yuan, accounting for 11.5 percent of Qinghai's total foreign trade value.
