Kyrgyz PM, Chinese ambassador discuss enhancing practical cooperation

Kyrgyz Prime Minister Ulukbek Maripov has met with Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Du Dewen, and both sides discussed such issues as the development of bilateral relations and strengthening practical cooperation, according to a press release on Friday.

Maripov, on behalf of President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov and the government, thanked the Chinese government for the donation of vaccines and China's support in the fight against the pandemic.

He noted that vaccines provided by China played an important role at the beginning of the vaccination campaign in Kyrgyzstan.

Maripov said that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to the development of a comprehensive strategic partnership with China.

During the meeting, Du praised the results of the joint fight against the COVID-19 pandemic by the two countries, as well as the fruits of co-building the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

China is ready to work with Kyrgyzstan to continuously promote bilateral cooperation in economy, trade and medical services under the strategic leadership of the leaders of the two countries, the ambassador said.
