China's mobile games take 40% of global market share in May
China's 39 mobile game publishers has reaped a total global revenue of 2.39 billion U.S. dollars in May, presenting 40.3 percent share in the global mobile games market, reported Shanghai Securities News Monday quoting Sensor Tower, a mobile app data analysis platform.
According to Sensor Tower, Tencent, NetEase (NASDAQ: NTES) and miHo Yo are the top three revenue reapers.
Although the top advantages of Tencent and NetEase are temporarily unshaken, a number of manufacturers are catching up at a faster speed.
miHo Yo has seen its revenue in May up 21 percent month on month, with 73.4 percent of it coming from overseas markets.
The game upstart ByteDance is developing even faster, with game revenue in May doubling that in April, setting a record high and ranking 14th among the 39 domestic mobile game publishers in terms of globalrevenue.
The Chinese online entertainment platform Bilibili (Nasdaq: BILI) which is popular among young people, has seen its revenue increase by 139 percent month on month in May, ranking 23rd on the list of the 39 game publishers.
Some A-share listed game companies also achieved good results in overseas business in May. Wuhu Sanqi Interactive Entertainment Network Technology Group Co., Ltd. (002555.SZ), Leiting Games under G-bits Network Technology (Xiamen) Co., Ltd. (603444.SH), YOUZU Interactive CO., Ltd. (002174.SZ) and Perfect World Co., Ltd. (002624.SZ) rank 7th, 20th, 22nd and 30th respectively on the list.
Leiting Games' revenue rose by 16 percent month on month in May, the month with the highest revenue since 2015.
