China's Henan Province saw a 46.8-percent increase in its foreign trade value during the first eight months of 2021, local customs said Wednesday.

Its total import and export values of the province in central China reached 477 billion yuan (about 74 billion U.S. dollars) in the period, data from the Zhengzhou Customs showed.

Of the total, exports grew to nearly 296 billion yuan, marking a 43.2-percent growth from the same period last year, while imports exceeded 181 billion yuan.

The comprehensive bonded zones in the province contributed about 66 percent to its total foreign trade growth, accounting for more than half of Henan's total import and export value during the period.
