Horgos handles the largest number of China-Europe freight trains in Xinjiang

A China-Europe freight train loaded with daily necessities, clothing and mechanical parts drove through Horgos Station for Poland on September 30, making Horgos surpass Alashankou as the top land port handling the largest number of such freight trains in Xinjiang.

It is learned that as of September 30, the number of trains handled by Horgos Railway port within this year was 4748, a year-on-year increase of 34.3 percent. Besides, the port saw its cargo volume reach 6.797 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 48.5 percent, of which, the export volume reached 3.935 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 32.7 percent, ranking first nationwide
As of September, Horgos port has launched 21 new China-Europe freight train lines, with its cumulative number of China-Europe freight train lines reaching 42.
During the epidemic, transporting via China-Europe freight trains has became an important channel for international trade. Horgos has attracted international customers with its convenient and efficient transportation organization model and has achieved growth in both volume and operating routes.
