Xi'an airport national logistics hub approved by State

Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission announced the first 25 national logistics hubs during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25), which included the Xi'an airport national logistics hub.

Located in Airport New City, Xixian New Area in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, the Xi'an airport national logistics hub is the only of its kind in Northwest China.

Airport New City has many advantages and has already opened 38 all-cargo routes in cooperation with China West Airport Group, including 19 international routes, connecting it to 18 cities in 13 countries, including Seoul, Moscow, and Los Angeles.

Relying on the Xi'an Xianyang International Airport, the airport hub will be involved in both domestic and international markets and help build the Belt and Road international aviation logistics hub.

The core area of the hub covers an area of 7.95 square kilometers and features one port, two centers and four parks.

One of the ports is the airport logistics port, and the two centers refer to the air-rail intermodal transportation center and the truck flight center. The four parks are the aviation warehousing and logistics park, the bonded logistics industrial park, the cross-border e-commerce international express logistics park and the airport cold chain logistics park.

The Xi'an airport national logistics hub will promote the construction of a modern circulation system and the high-quality social and economic development of the Guanzhong Plain urban cluster.

By the end of 2025, Xi'an Xianyang International Airport is expected to have a cargo and mail throughput of 800,000 metric tons and operate 50 all-cargo routes, with a hub logistics cargo volume of 6.8 million tons and an airport economic output value exceeding 100 billion yuan ($15.72 billion).
