BEIJING, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- As of Tuesday, the Yuxi-Mohan railway, the Chinese section of the China-Laos Railway, has sent a total of 114,000 passengers since the official opening of the China-Laos Railway on December 3, People.cn reported.

In order to meet the travel demand of passengers, China Railway Kunming Bureau Group Co. has decided to timely increase the number of trains running on the Yuxi-Mohan railway starting from December 9.

By then, the number of trains running on the railway will increase from 17.5 pairs at the initial stage of operation to 25.5 pairs.

It is learned that the opening of the Yuxi-Mohan railway not only slashes the space-time distance from Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province, to Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture and Puer city, but also ends the history of no rail service between Puer and Xishuangbanna.
