China, ASEAN cooperation forum highlights high-quality Belt and Road cooperation

The China-ASEAN Cooperation Forum on Building High-Quality Belt and Road was held Tuesday in Beijing, highlighting high-quality Belt and Road cooperation between China and ASEAN.

Sponsored by China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and ASEAN-China Centre, the forum witnessed the MOU signing between the NDRC and the Lao Ministry of Planning and Investment on the establishment of a coordination mechanism for in Belt and Road cooperation.

As China and ASEAN mark the 30th anniversary of their dialogue relations this year, the high-level forum, held both online and offline, was attended by officials such as NDRC deputy head Ning Jizhe, Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning and Investment Sonexay Siphandone, Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, and Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew Abdullah, Brunei's minister at the Prime Minister's Office, as well as Fu Hua, editor-in-chief of Xinhua News Agency, Dato Lim Jock Hoi, Secretary-General of ASEAN and Chen Dehai, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Center, sharing thoughts on cooperation in fields such as anti-epidemic, infrastructure, trade and investment, green development, finance and culture for further pushing forward high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.
