The China-Europe freight train route linking Zhengzhou of central China's Henan Province and Hungary's Budapest started operation on Friday, opening a new freight train route between Zhengzhou and European countries in 2022, reported Chinanews.com Friday.

The freight train loaded with machinery and equipment parts, electronic components, and medical and health supplies left from Zhengzhou, heading for Budapest, the capital of Hungary on Friday.

As Hungary's largest city, Budapest is not only the country's leading political, commercial, and transportation center but also an important logistics hub along the Silk Road Economic Belt.

According to China Railway Zhengzhou Group Co., Ltd., the train operator, opening the new freight train route will provide Hungary and its neighboring countries with more high-quality and convenient trade services and play a positive role in promoting the economic development of China and European countries.

It is noted that the Zhengzhou-Europe freight train service has launched international freight train routes covering 13 overseas destinations such as Hamburg, Germany, Italy, and other countries since it was launched in July 2013, striving to enhance trade connectivity between China and the European market.
