China's international patent applications through the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) recorded 69,500, ranking first worldwide for the third consecutive year, reported Shanghai Securities News quoting data released by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) recently.

Specifically, 13 Chinese companies made their way onto the list of the top 50 PCT international patent applicants in 2021, one more than that in 2020.

Among these companies, AAC Technologies (02018. HK) sees the fastest growth in such rank, standing at 29th worldwide and 8th in China in 2021. It also filed more PCT international patent applications than any other Chinese precision manufacturing enterprise in 2021.

As a world-leading provider of solutions for smart devices, AAC technologies has seen its global patent applications amount to over 14,000 by the end of 2021, which covers multiple segments like micro acoustics, precision optics, electromagnetic transmission, radio frequency, and precision components.
