S. China's Guangxi launches air route for fruits imported from RCEP countries

A batch of durian from Thailand arrived at the Wuxu International Airport in Nanning, capital city of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on May 13, marking the launch of Guangxi's air route for fruits imported from the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) member countries, Guangxi Daily reported on Monday.  

This also marks the first fruit import business of the airport in Nanning.

With the approval of the General Administration of Customs, a designated supervision site for imported fruits at the Nanning international airport was put into operation on April 1. This means that imported fruits can enter Guangxi by air, in addition to by land transport.

It takes as short as one day for freshly-picked fruits from Southeast Asian countries to be distributed to domestic stores after entry via the airport in Nanning, said Weng Guoxin, executive of an international trade company in Guangxi, also the buyer of durians.
