Caculo Cabaça Hydropower Project in Angola

With an installed capacity of 2,172MW and a contractual value of 4.5 billion U.S. dollars (about 28.1 billion yuan), the Caculo Cabaça Hydropower Project in Angola started its construction in August 2017. During the peak period of construction, it will create over 6,000 jobs and improve the labor skills of local people. After completion, it will be the largest hydropower station in Angola and even Africa, known as Angola's "Three Gorges Project". Its annual power generation will reach 8,980GWh which will meet more than 50 percent of Angola's power demand and significantly promote local socio-economic development.
