N. China's Handan launches first international freight train to Central Asia

An international freight train loaded with 607 tonnes of goods on Monday left Handan, north China's Hebei Province for Almaty, Kazakhstan, marking the launch of the first international freight train from Handan to Central Asia.

Cargo carried mainly includes bicycles, mechanical equipment, furniture, graphite electrodes and daily necessities, with a total value of about 2.2 million U.S. dollars.

The goods, after arriving in Almaty, will be distributed to Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
