CGGC praised for active participation in social responsibility activities in Fiji
On August 15, CGGC received a letter of thanks from the Chinese Embassy in Fiji. It sang high praise to CGGC Fiji branch for carrying forward the excellent spirit of acting from the perspective of a big picture as a state-owned enterprise, and actively participating in welcoming and seeing off the hospital ship Peace Ark and related volunteer services, which fully demonstrated the good spiritual outlook and better improved the reputable profile of Chinese-funded enterprises in Fiji.
Letter of Thanks
From August 2 to 9, at a free clinic in Fiji conducted by the Chinese naval hospital ship Peace Ark which is carrying out the "Mission Harmony 2018" , there was a special group of people who were not professional medical staff but effectively supported the free clinic. They kept getting on and off the ship, and shuttling between patients and doctors to guide patients and help doctors better understand patients' conditions. These people were volunteers composed of staff from Chinese-funded enterprises in Fiji and local Chinese citizens, including volunteers from CGGC Fiji branch. "The patients' thumbs-up and Vinaka (thank you in Fijian) are the biggest recognition of my work, making me genuinely proud of the strength of China", said a CGGC volunteer.

As an international contractor with a high sense of social responsibility, CGGC has created both top-quality projects and job opportunities for the Fijian people by excellent construction progress, outstanding construction quality and enthusiasm about integration into the local community. In addition, CGGC actively fulfills its social responsibility in a variety of forms like charity assistance and volunteer service, building a good reputation in the country. The road renovation project undertaken by CGGC is an important part of the Fijian government's strategy of transportation planning. It is of great significance to boosting Fiji's economic growth, creating jobs along the routes and reducing the number of the impoverished population. In the disastrous flood in 2012, CGGC Fiji branch actively raised funds, equipment and supplies to help the Fijian government and people fight against the flood and restore their homes, which was highly appreciated by Fijian Prime Minister Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama.
In the future, CGGC will carry forward the cooperation concept of "equity, integrity and win-win effect" to promote Fiji's socioeconomic development at a deeper level and contribute to the friendship between Fiji and China to a greater extent.
