Over 500 people attended the conference, including representatives of embassies, consulates and business associations in China from 13 countries, as well as representatives of domestic firms, e-commerce platforms and buyers. Co-hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Hebei Provincial Government, the event also contains exhibition both online and offline. The one-year-long online exhibition involves three categories covering highlighted geographical indications (GIs), featured GIs and buyers, attracting 50 exhibitors.

The Guidance of Chinese Geographical Indications (North China) was also published during the conference. The guidance serves as a useful resource for foreign enterprises looking for GIs in north China through providing brief introductions of the names, characteristics and geographical locations of the products with both pictures and texts.
