First China-Europe freight train (JingShiOu) launched in N.China's Shijiazhuang

The first China-Europe freight train (JingShiOu) loaded with over 240 tonnes of goods departed from Beijing Tuesday, according to Chinanews.com.

"JingShiOu" is a code name for the train to identify the operating route, literally meaning "Beijing-Shijiazhuang-Europe". Starting its journey in Beijing, the capital of China, through Shijiazhuang International Land Port in north China's Hebei Province, the train will finally arrive in Nizhny Kamsk, Russia.

The train was jointly launched by two wholly-owned subsidiaries of China's Sinotrans Logistics Ltd. and Shijiazhuang International Land Port.

The launch of the China-Europe freight train (JingShiOu) is an achievement during the transfer process of railway logistics industry from Beijing to Hebei province, which will be helpful to deepen the coordinated development of logistics sector in Beijing and Hebei, said Liu Jinpeng, general manager of Shijiazhuang International Land Port.

Currently, Shijiazhuang International Land Port has handled 229 China-Europe freight train trips in 2022 with goods worthwhile 5.2 billion yuan transported, with 13 international routes on a regular basis, covering more than 40 countries and regions in the European Union (EU), Central Asia and ASEAN.
