North China's Shanxi Province and the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo on Monday signed online a protocol of intention to cooperate in fields concerning mutual interests such as economy, trade, agriculture, science, technology, and education, Shanxi Daily reported.

This is the first protocol of intention on cooperation signed between the two sides since they established partnership of friendly cooperation in 2019.

The signing of the protocol aims to upgrade cooperation between the two sides and promote closer people-to-people ties. It is also expected to propel Shanxi's international cooperation in areas of agricultural products, energy industry development, machinery and equipment manufacturing, and yield more cooperation fruits to benefit people in Shanxi and the state of Sao Paulo.
