As a landmark project of pragmatic cooperation between China and Indonesia under the Belt and Road Initiative, the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Railway(HSR) is the first model project in which China's high-speed rail technology was implemented in an all-round way abroad.

On September 21, 2021, the last batch of 6,600 tonnes of rails for Jakarta-Bandung HSR supplied by China Railway Material Group Corporation Limited (CRMG) arrived at the Cilacap Port in Indonesia, marking the completion of transportation of all long rails in the "first order" of exporting Chinese high-speed rails as a whole.

Since the signing of the rail supply order for Jakarta-Bandung HSR, CRMG has actively developed a scientific supply support scheme, set up trans-regional and trans-industry technical teams with partners, such as PowerChina, Sinotrans, Pangang Group, COSCO Shipping and Beibu Gulf Fangcheng Port, designed and implemented a one-stop logistics scheme for 100-meter-long rails, including 50-meter saw cutting at the port, on-site facilities renovation, quality inspection, shipment and sea transportation, and unloading at overseas ports", which helped it overcome technical difficulties in the export of long fixed-length rails, and accumulate valuable experience for exporting Chinese high-speed rails as a whole.

Facing the severe epidemic situation abroad, the group has paid close attention to both epidemic prevention and production. By adjusting the supply support scheme timely, it has solved the difficulties in increased shipping costs and shortage of special ship types, and completed the shipment task of 38,100 tonnes of rails for Jakarta-Bandung HSR in five batches with quality and quantity guaranteed, ensuring smooth progress of the project.

Reportedly, "Yongsheng" freighter carrying this batch of rails set sail from Fangcheng Port in Guangxi on the afternoon of September 11 and arrived at the Cilacap Port in Indonesia after 10 days. Next, the rails will be transported in batches to the track-laying base of the Tegal Luar Depot of Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Railway, welded into 500-meter-long rails and laid on tracks in next February.

The Jakarta-Bandung HSR is a landmark project of pragmatic cooperation between China and Indonesia under the Belt and Road Initiative. It connects Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, and Bandung, the fourth largest city of Indonesia, with a total length of 142 kilometers and the maximum design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It is the first model project in which China's high-speed rail technology was implemented in an all-round way abroad. Upon the completion of the project, the travel time from Jakarta to Bandung will be shortened from more than 3 hours at present to 40 minutes.
