First phase of largest investment project in China-Belarus industrial park completed
The completion ceremony for the first phase of the China Merchants Group China-Belarus trade and logistics park, the largest investment project in the Great Stone China-Belarus industrial park, was held on May 12, 2017 at local time, marking the further qualifications of the China-Belarus industrial park in comprehensive investment attraction.
Anatoly Kalinin, the Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister who attended the ceremony, said that the first phase of the trade and logistics park was completed in a very short period, setting a new record in construction speed, and thanks to the joint efforts of China and Belarus, the 3.5-squarekilometer starting area of the China-Belarus industrial park has been greatly improved over the past two years. There were nine enterprises settled in the China-Belarus industrial park, and in the future, excellent enterprises from Europe and America would be attracted to settle and invest in the park in addition to Chinese enterprises, he added.
Hu Zheng, an executive of China-Belarus Industrial Park Development Company, said that the completion of the first phase of the trade and logistics park further indicated that the China-Belarus industrial park was ready for comprehensive investment attraction. He noted that the governments of China and Belarus has vigorously promoted the construction of the Great Stone China-Belarus industrial park and provided preferential tax or loan policies for enterprises within the park. He believed that with the completion of the trade and logistics park and other infrastructure facilities, these preferential policies would attract more high-tech enterprises to settle in the China-Belarus industrial park.
It is noted that apart from the nine enterprises that have settled in the park, many companies from China, the U.S., Germany, Italy, Belgium and Russia have also expressed their intention to join the park, and the total number of enterprises settled in the park may reach 20 by the end of 2017.
The China-Belarus industrial park is near the Minsk National Airport with a planned area of 91.5 square kilometers. It is the largest investment attraction project in Belarus and the largest economic and technological cooperation project between China and Belarus.China and Belarus have been working together to build the China-Belarus industrial park into an open, win-win, green and eco-friendly international industrial cooperation platform, a model project of bilateral cooperation as well as a pearl project on the Silk Road Economic Belt.
