MADRID, April 16 (Xinhua) -- Spain will begin to export almonds to China after a phytosanitary protocol was reached between the two countries.

The agreement will allow the export of 50,000 tons per year of Spanish almonds to China, with a total value of more than 600 million euros (about 659.72 million U.S. dollars).

Jorge de Saja, an experienced professional in the feed and food industry, said that it's a huge opportunity for Spanish almond producers, who are looking for new markets.

Saja believes that the deal will create win-win results for Spain and China.
