China-Europe freight trains from Chengdu, Chongqing see over 1,500 trips in Q1 this year

A train loaded with whole vehicles departed from the Chengdu International Railway Port in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province on Saturday for Vorotynsk in Russia.

The train is set to arrive in Vorotynsk in 14 days.

It is learned that the total number of China-Europe freight train trips from southwest China's Chengdu and the neighboring Chongqing Municipality surged 70 percent year on year to exceed 1,500 in the first quarter of this year.

Chongqing and Chengdu are among the earliest cities in China to start the China-Europe freight train service with the most train trips made and most extensive regional cooperation achieved.  

At present, the China-Europe freight trains departing from the two cities can reach over 100 overseas cities.
