The Suki Kinari Hydropower project in Pakistan, invested and implemented by China Gezhouba Group Company Limited (CGGC), achieved the hoisting of the last rotor on June 10.

Located on the Kunhar River in the Mansehra district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwest Pakistan, Suki Kinari Hydropower Station is one of the priority projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The successful hoisting of the last rotor marks the installation of the unit body of the hydropower station is coming to an end, laying a solid foundation for the waterless commissioning of four generating units in the second half of 2023.

Designed with a total installed capacity of 884 megawatt, the Suki Kinari Hydropower project started construction in January 2017 and is expected to be put into operation in 2024. After commissioning, the power station will generate 3.2 billion kWh of clean electricity for Pakistan every year.
