Kyrgyzstan to deepen education cooperation with China

BISHKEK, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Du Dewen met on Tuesday with Kyrgyz Minister of Education and Science Kanybek Imanaliev, with both sides exchanging views on deepening educational cooperation, the Chinese embassy said in a press release.

While expressing gratitude to China for its long-time support for Kyrgyzstan's economic, social and educational development, Imanaliev said Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to bilateral educational cooperation and is ready to work with China to deepen cooperation between the universities and implement the joint construction of the Luban Workshop and other projects.

The Luban Workshop is a program by China to provide vocational skills in overseas countries.

Speaking highly of the level of China-Kyrgyzstan comprehensive strategic partnership for a new era, Du stressed the need for further bilateral cooperation in education.

The ambassador said that China is ready to work with Kyrgyzstan to implement the important consensus of the two heads of state and expand Luban Workshops in Kyrgyzstan.

Du stressed that China supports more young people from Kyrgyzstan to study in China and will give full play to the role of Confucius Institutes in promoting Chinese language teaching in Kyrgyzstan and building a China-Kyrgyzstan community with a shared future.
