Firms build Cambodia’s tallest building
Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group recently signed a US$2.7-billion contract with Thai Boon Roong (TBR) Group, a real estate company in Cambodia, to build the TBR Twin Tower World Trade Center, which will be the tallest building in Southeast Asia, Changjiang Daily reported.
The company will form a consortium with Sino Great Wall Engineering to jointly undertake the construction contracting of the skyscraper project.
The project is jointly invested in by TBR and Macao-based Sun Kian Ip Holding. As one of the biggest trade companies in Cambodia, TBR’s business portfolio includes real estate, finance and hotels. Sun Kian Ip Holding, a renowned company in Macao, mainly deals with investments.
The 560-meter, 133-floor twin towers will be a large-scale commercial complex integrating office building, residential housing, expo and hotels.
The skyscraper, which will be 108 meters taller than Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, will be a new landmark in Cambodia.
The construction of the twin towers is China’s largest project in Cambodia; it’s also another landmark project constructed by Chinese companies along the Belt and Road routes.
