The development of the Belt and Road Initiative is a long term and systematic project, and the main areas for its construction include facilities connectivity, capacity cooperation and industrial parks, said Gu Xueming, president of the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce.

Gu said, We should give more support to overseas industrial parks, since they can promote the Belt and Road construction and local economic development.

So far, China has set up 52 industrial parks in countries along the Belt and Road, creating US$900 million in tax for relevant countries and nearly 70,000 jobs.
