More freight trains depart from Zhengzhou

The last freight train from Zhengzhou to Europe in 2016 left Zhengzhou Railway Container Center on December 24, raising the total service number to 251.

Zhengzhou ranked top among all Chinese cities that have opened freight train services to Europe, in terms of cargo capacity, types of goods carried, cooperative partnerships, business scope and high-frequency use. By December 24, Zhengzhou has had fulfilled its planned goal of 200 trips in 2016.

It offered freight train services for 251 times, carrying goods valued at 1.267 billion dollars and weighing a total of 128,600 tons.

Since its first trip on July 18, 2013, it has run 507 times, with an overall value of 2.461 billion dollars and a total weight of 237,100 tons.

In 2017, Zhengzhou will improve its operation frequency to four round trips, with a yearly plan of 300 trips. In addition, it will make efforts to reduce one-way transportation time to 11 or 12 days.
