The First Cross-Strait Blockchain Industry Forum Is Held in Pingtan, Fujian

The First Cross-Strait Blockchain Industry Forum was held on August 14 in Pingtan, Fujian. The Forum was jointly organized by the Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Enterprise Service Center of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Management Committee of Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone.

The Summit, based on the theme of "connect both shores and link the future", invites the top technical talents in blockchain from the Mainland and Taiwan to jointly discuss the status quo of the industry with "blockchain+" as the main body, as well as the development trend of cross-strait blockchain industry.

"Pingtan is a policy pool of the following three zones: the Free Trade Experimental Zone, the Comprehensive Experimental Zone and the International Tourism Island." Lin Shunjie, deputy director of the Management Committee of Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone, said that in recent years, Pingtan has been focusing on emerging industries and building a modern industrial system that supports high-quality development. The blockchain industry is in full compliance with Pingtan's development orientation.

Yang Zhean from Taiwan came to Pingtan after his graduation of doctor. He has been working in Pingtan for nearly 6 years and is the current deputy director of the Finance Office of the Management Committee of Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone. In his view, as a Comprehensive Experimental Zone, Pingtan should be the pioneer first and foremost.

"The financial industry is our key pillar industry in Pingtan." Yang Zhean said that he hopes the technology and finance can promote the Pingtan financial industry and promote Pingtan to become the land of the cross-strait blockchain. Pingtan will support the development of blockchain in terms of enterprise settlement, operation, platform construction, finance, talents and the like.

The Forum also announced the launch of the preparations for the "Fujian Strait Blockchain Application Association".

Zhang Peng, chairman of the Preparatory Committee of the Fujian Strait Blockchain Application Association, said that the preparation for the establishment of the association is to establish a cross-strait enterprise exchange platform centered on the blockchain industry, including the communication system of academic, financial, traditional industrial upgrading and other areas, conduct industry data research on blockchain enterprises across the Taiwan Straits and promote the healthy development of the industry.

Liu Daiyang, vice president of National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, believes that the current development and application of blockchain technology in Taiwan is relatively mature and experienced, with a huge Mainland market and sufficient research capabilities. He hopes to promote more cross-strait cooperation through interaction.
