A total of 95.92 million tons of crude oil had been transported through an oil pipeline linking Russia's Far East to Northeast China since the pipeline was opened in 2011, according to an announcement released on Feb. 4 by the Heilongjiang Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau.

Some 1.45 million tons of crude oil travelled through the pipeline in January 2017 alone. The nearly 1000-kilometer-long pipeline, with 72 kilometers within Russia and 927.04 kilometers in China, originates from the distribution station of Skovorodino in Russia. It runs through China’s Heilongjiang Province and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and ends in Daqing City.

It is scheduled to transport 15 million tons of crude oil from Russia to China every year, with an annual maximum supply level of 30 million tons.
