Hou Zhiyang, from Chiayi, Taiwan, applied through the app and passed the knowledge test of mainland driving test lately and received the C1 class driver's license from Pingtan Police Traffic Unit on the spot.

This was not the first time Hou Zhiyang sent in an application through the app. He also applied for the renewal of Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents before. He indicated that the app has certainly benefitted Taiwan residents over work, life and short trip in mainland.

At present, over one hundred Taiwan residents have applied for the mainland driving test online via the app. In addition, Taiwan residents can apply for certifying of Taiwan equivalent (or similar) occupational qualifications, facilitating the employment for Taiwan residents.

Lin Jiyi, a cosmetologist from Taiwan obtained a cosmetology practicing certificate last November via the app, which allows her to practice in Pingtan. During the application process, the app provided her with online consultation and enrolment service, allowing her to settle prerequisite requirements while she was in Taiwan. In the meantime, the app will prepare all relevant material offline for Taiwan residents to pick up from the physical office providing relevant identification is provided.

"Tailutong" app opened up the "daily living sphere" for cross-strait integrative development through "Internet Plus", bridging the gap between the government and Taiwan residents digitally.

It is said that by the end of last year, over 58,000 people registered an account with "Tailutong". The app has provided 9,524 logs of account opening and activation services and 6,815 logs of online government administration, licensing, transport, telecommunication and human services. In the future, "Tailutong" app will continue to develop services to meet the need of Taiwan residents, such as tourist tax refund and departing payment (housing accumulation fund).
