The first Lyon-Wuhan freight train arrived at Wujiashan Railway Center in Wuhan, capital of central China’s Hubei Province, on Feb. 23, 2017.

The returning train from Lyon City in France transported 200 tons of goods, including such items as auto parts and wines.

Wuhan has been operating 12 freight train routes linking it with more than 60 cities in 28 countries, including Germany, France, Russia and Belarus since it launched the freight train services in 2014.

The direct freight train linking Wuhan and Lyon began operation on April 6, 2016.

So far, around 120 French businesses have opened their presence in Hubei and Wuhan is the top investment destination in China for France, accounting for about one third of its total investment in China.
