When attending the deliberation of the Fujian delegation at the Second Session of the 13th National People's Congress, secretary Xi Jinping stressed that it is necessary to strengthen cross-straits cooperation, increase cultural exchanges and work wholeheartedly for Taiwan compatriots, in a drive to enhance their cognition and feelings towards the nation and the country. As a window for exchanges with Taiwan, Pingtan has been vigorously promoting the integration and development of the two sides of the Taiwan straits in recent years to create an excellent business environment, in which a growing number of Taiwan businessmen and compatriots are investing in Pingtan to share the new dividends of cross-straits development.

Taiwanese businessman Chen Mengbang came to Pingtan to start his own business in 2015 and founded the high-tech enterprise named Zongren Technology, which is mainly engaged in integrated circuit design and integrates research& development with manufacturing & sales. In Chen Mengbang's view, Pingtan is a good-hearted olive branch of the mainland as well as a new platform for cross-strait integration and development. Under the guidance of Pingtan's pioneering policy and the direction of relevant departments, Zongren Technology has not only grown up from less than 10 employees to nearly 50 people in just a few years, but also with a ground-breaking growth in company's turnover as the company's electronic products are sold inside and outside the province.

Chen Mengbang said: "We also hope that the industry chain can be implemented here and thus our company has invested more than 7 million and bought a lot of test equipment. We hope that the IC test center can be built here and the industry chain is gradually being implemented, which not only makes our company more competitive, but also, i suppose, attracts the attention of companies across the Taiwan Straits."

Apart from building a development platform for Taiwanese businessmen, Pingtan has also provided a great development possibility for the employment of Taiwanese compatriots, allowing them to share opportunities for cross-strait integration. Fang Yiru, a youth after the 1980s,was the general manager of Pingtan Cross-Strait Public Warehouse Company Limited, whose overseas warehouse was the first one set up by the mainland in Taiwan and opened a new channel for cross-border  e-commerce between the two sides. After working on the mainland for nearly 10 years, FangYiru travelled great rivers of the motherland, however, ending up in Pingtan. In Fang Yiru's view, Pingtan just started up though, providing a big stage for these young Taiwanese.

In addition to the same treatment he enjoyed in terms of study, entrepreneurship, and life, Fang Yiru settled down to self-development in Pingtan. With the continuous development of cross-strait logistics channels, Pingtan's cross-border e-commerce industry has developed rapidly, and the vast space looks to further increase in the eyes of Fang Yiru. This year, her company will continue to expand its business and seek more development possibilities: "with a definite growth in our company's volume this year, our company is docking with Jingdong cloud business in addition to the koala certification warehouse this year. What we mainly focus on now is the export of SF Express and we will also choose a general direction for achieving excellence in export business. Fang Yiru said.
