The Cooperation Agreement on the Eurasian Silk Road Fund and the Cooperation Agreement on Eurasian Silk Road Commodities Exchange were signed between the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce (SRCIC) and the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) Business Council on Feb. 21 in Bishkek, capital of Kyrgyzstan, Xinhua reports.

The SRCIC delegation led by its president Lyu Jianzhong visited Kyrgyzstan. Lyu met with Kyrgyz First Deputy Prime Minister Mukhammetkaly Abulgaziev and held discussions on promoting cooperation among countries along the Silk Road under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Under the agreements, the two sides will establish a Eurasian Silk Road Fund to be registered in China’s Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The US$5 billion fund will be invested in the areas such as infrastructure, energy and transportation, trade and logistics, eco-agriculture and cultural exchanges.

Lyu said the Eurasian Silk Road Fund will provide more capital and financial support for regional economic development and accelerate the cooperation among countries.

Lyu noted that the Eurasian Silk Road Commodities Exchange will give full play to the resource advantages of the two sides and offer comprehensive services in commodity exchange for countries along the Silk Road.

The Hong Kong-based SRCIC is a non-profit international business organization established in 2015 to promote business cooperation and cultural exchanges along the Silk Road.
