How does the Big Data Industry in Guizhou Attract Young French
The young French Alexandra entered the Exhibition Center of National Big Data (Guizhou) Comprehensive Pilot Zone for the first time, and passed through the "Time Tunnel" to experience 5G applications, family Internet of Things, future MR classrooms, multi-person AR interactive scenes and other technologies brought by the three major mobile operators in China. "It's really amazing, beyond my imagination. It is packed with cutting-edge science and technology," exclaimed she.
She planned to share the photos and videos she has shot with her family and friends in France and let them know that "China is indeed a pacesetter for entrepreneurship in big data." Alexandra, who holds a master's degree in Management from HEC Paris, France, is one of the 10 members of the Third French Youth Mission of the "Ambassador Wu Jianmin Award" that visited China from June 1 to 15.
These young people from noted universities in France, such as Paris Institute of Political Studies, HEC Paris, and University of Technology of Troyes, came to Guiyang with their curiosity about the development of "innovation and entrepreneurship" with Chinese characteristics to find their own answers.
"What supportive policies and assistance does China provide for university students' entrepreneurship in big data? How can Guiyang retain talents, especially high-end talents" - this is what Henry with dual master's degrees in Economics and Political Sciences at Trinity College Dublin wanted to know. During the two-day visit on June 11-12, he found part of the answer in Qilin Maker Town, High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Guiyang, which is the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the "Credit Forest System."
In the Qilin Maker Town, the young French found that the company that operates the town provides not only offices, dormitories, restaurants and other supporting facilities for the Makers, but also mentor consultation, incubators and other related services. They learned that the physical maker space, which was put into service in July 2015, has currently welcomed nearly 100 Maker teams, covering e-commerce, big data, cultural creativity, i-finance and many other domains. Through the implementation of the "Credit Forest System," the operating company provides star rating of credit on the settled enterprises, offers credit rewards based on the corresponding star ratings the enterprises receive and makes their credit public.
In Guizhou Xiaoi Robot Technology Co., Ltd., the French youth saw that, when the Xiaoi robots receive the words like "I have a complaint" said in Mandarin or Guizhou dialect, they can analyze the feedback information, distribute the relevant "tasks" to industrial and commercial departments based on different categories of information, and prioritize them according to their significance, which will finally be addressed by law enforcement personnel according to the actual situation. For the big data-based processing of government affairs, each member of the mission gave their thumbs up.
Louis, who holds dual master's degrees in Business Data Science and Economics from HEC Paris and ?cole Polytechnique, learned that this big data company founded in July 2016 frees humans from repetitive, mechanical labor, with its big data intelligence products applied in many sectors in Guiyang such as government governance and livelihood services.
"The key to success is to turn the key technology of artificial intelligence into intelligent service applications centering on human needs. This makes Guiyang a dynamic city of big data other than a tourist city," said Louis.
Maksim, Co-founder of myCTO in France who holds dual master's degrees in Industrial Engineering and Venture Economics from University of Technology of Troyes, shared similar feeling. After visiting Guiyang with the mission for the first time, what impressed him most is that "the big data industry is putting Guiyang on a fast track to development." He compared Guiyang to Shenzhen many years ago, and thought that Guiyang, with big data and artificial intelligence as its growth drivers, has been well poised for the future development.
He learned that, even the world leader French-based SAFRAN has also opened Safran Aircraft Engines (Guiyang) Co., Ltd, producing the low-pressure turbine blades on the CFM56 and LEAP engines for civil aviation that have been exported to Italy and Israel, which are extolled by the industry as the "most successful engine blade in the history of commercial aviation."
"China attaches great importance to the intelligent transformation and upgrading of manufacturing. Multinational companies are aiming at deepening cooperation with Guiyang, thus bringing opportunities for the all-round development of Guiyang in such fields as big data foundation research and development, intellectual property, venture capital, talent services, skill training and exhibitions. The industry in Guiyang is characterized by high interconnection of human, machine, object and data," said Maksim.
Praise aside, the visiting French youth were also thinking about how China has integrated urban ecology with industrial development.
They planned to introduce the achievements China has made in the development of its big data industry as comprehensively as possible in their reports submitted to the "Ambassador Wu Jianmin Award" after returning to France, so that more French companies and youth can get to know China.
