Pingtan Delegation at the CIIE: Learning Experience, Looking For Projects and Business Opportunities
The 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held in Shanghai from November, 5th to 10th. To participate in this event, Pingtan County has established a trading delegation. On the morning of the 6th, it arrived at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) to visit some national exhibition halls at the CIIE. Based on Pingtan’s need on industry upgrading and development, it placed emphasis on visiting the exhibition areas such as service trade, equipment and automobile. During its visit, the delegation had a deep understanding of international standards, absorbed advanced experience and carried out related supporting activities.
A variety of new technologies and equipment highlighted the exhibition areas of service trade, equipment, medical equipment and medicine health care. The delegation members tried to meet new friends and seek projects and business opportunities while hovering around the venue along with discussion. They wrestled to learn from the advanced technology and experience as well as find equipment manufacturing technology suitable for Pingtan’s industry development. Meanwhile, they paid greater attention to projects and equipment suitable for the development of Pingtan’s industry, such as medical care, driverless automobiles and cross-border trade.
In addition to visiting, enterprise representatives of the delegation also made purchase according to their own development needs. For example, at the Taiwan Famous and Premium Food Promotion & Matchmaking Conference, Li Zidian, the head of Fujian Zhongtan International Trade Co., Ltd., as a representative of Pingtan’s enterprises, signed purchase agreements with two Taiwan exhibitors to purchase shredded fish, snack foods and others.
On the afternoon of the same day, the Pingtan delegation also held a Matchmaking Symposium for Major Enterprises. The relevant person in charge of the Investment Promotion Bureau of the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone gave a detailed introduction to the development of Pingtan for the enterprise representatives from Shanghai, and summarized the advantage of the supporting policies in areas such as finance & taxation and industry supported by the nation, province and pilot zone as “less rate payment, more refund, quick subsidies, stable policies, and sustained benefits”. At the symposium, five key projects involving scenic spot development, commercial integration, and emerging industrial parks were launched.
“Our project in Pingtan was completed in less than a year.” Zheng Yunfeng, Deputy General Manager of Kunshan Chenfeng Metal Co., Ltd. in Shanghai praised Pingtan’s considerate and efficient government service environment at the symposium. After that, both new comers and old friends present consulted about the corresponding policies in detail based on their respective enterprise’s situation so as to know more about their future development in Pingtan. Relevant persons in charge of the departments and the four districts of the pilot zone answered the questions raised by the enterprise representatives on various areas such as further optimizing the business environment and promoting the project launching as well as site selection. They welcomed all entrepreneurs to invest Pingtan and promised to spare no effort to provide full-process services for enterprises that intend to invest and start businesses in Pingtan.
